Nearly A Dozen Planes Were Forced To Land Here In the Valley

KFSN Fresno Yosemite International airport was packed with passengers Friday and planes that don't normally land in Fresno.

Wet and windy conditions in cities like San Francisco and Sacramento forced many travelers to ditch original travel plans and divert to places with milder weather.

As of early this afternoon 11 flights were diverted into Fresno. Airport officials say wild weather left airlines with few landing options once conditions got severe.

For some travelers, like the Nunez family, who began their journey at 1 a-m this morning in Ohio, getting back home to Santa Maria, with their four kids in tow, was nothing short of a nightmare.

Many passengers boarded charter busses, Others got rides, hoping to finally, by day's end make it to their destination.
