Bill may aid Metro expansion plans

6/2/2008 The Pasadena Star-News reports the Assembly just passed a measure including $238 million in tax revenue for the foothill extension.

The bill allows Metro to tap into a future half-cent county sales tax increase.

The bill is now on its way to the State Senate, but even if it passes, Metro must get approval for the tax hike from the voters.

Meanwhile, critics say the money will only fund part of the extension and leave nothing for the second phase.
