Hospital helps fund after-school program at Fresno park

FRESNO, Calif.

The hospital presented the $10,000 check as grant to fund an after-school program Quigley Park in West Central Fresno.

The grant will be used to buy sports equipment, snacks and even a computer lab for the neighborhood community center.

"Today its about the children that you guys see here, it's about this park and it's about what its offering to our neighborhoods, to our families here," said Fresno City Council Member Blong Xiong.

"Kaiser Permanente's goal from the outset, over 60 years ago, was not only to take great care of our members but to help with the communities and provide for healthy communities," said Ken Ellzey with Kaiser Permanente.

About 25 school aged kids visit Quigley Park each day.
