Report: Female farm workers often suffer sexual abuse

FRESNO, Calif.

The study shows immigration status makes workers fearful of reporting offenders who are often also their employers. Human Rights Watch interviewed dozens of farm workers and attorneys and advocates in at least 7 states focusing primarily in the Central Valley.

The California Farm Bureau Federation says sexual harassment is a universal problem and is not a problem confined to the agricultural industry.
