City of Fresno offers way to dispose of hazardous waste

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Department of Public Works wants to help you properly dispose of hazardous waste you may have in your home.

The department is hosting a collection event for Fresno and Clovis residents on Saturday.

Acceptable items include ammonia-based cleaners, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, aerosol cans, drain/oven cleaners, used motor oil and filters and more.

Jordan Scott from the Fresno County Administrative Office said, "You have items that we're collecting. They're not hazardous on day to day but if left to sit around diff hazards trying to remove those risks from your homes."

The event is by appointment only and space is limited.

Fresno and Clovis residents interested in participating are asked to call 877-422-0096 and reserve a time to drop off their items.
