Disneyland to celebrate 60-year anniversary with new shows, diamond decorations

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- In preparation for Disneyland Resort's 60-year celebration, new entertainment pieces and decorations were revealed after hours Wednesday night.

The park, which opened on July 17, 1955, will be celebrating 60 years with diamond decorations and three new shows.

Dubbed the "Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration," the anniversary will feature a new "World of Color" show, a "Paint the Night" parade, diamond decorations on Sleeping Beauty's Castle and the Carthay Circle Theater at Disney California Adventure, and a new fireworks show called "Disneyland Forever."

The parade, new "World of Color" and fireworks shows will debut on May 22.
