FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Three Terronez Middle School students are recovering after being rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon.
They admitted taking some type of drug while on campus. The buses at school likely took off without some students Friday after an alleged drug incident sent three eighth graders to the hospital. "All of these kids I'm going to talk about are around 13 years of age," Lt. Joe Gomez with the Fresno Police Department said.
Two female cousins sold some type of controlled substance from a bottle that had white residue in it, according to police. "Her claim, right now, is that she got that bottle underneath her sink under her bathroom and it had multiple pills in it," Gomez explained.
Police say it was a teacher who spotted unusual behavior coming from some students in their class and reported it to administrators. The teacher started to notice they were very woozy acting strange, so she took them to the office and they admitted the students sold them drugs and they ingested it while at school
An odd scene for students who saw it firsthand. "She was feeling dizzy," a witness said. "She was falling she was like saying stuff, she was dizzy."
Some parents we spoke with were shocked by the news. "I think it's sad and disturbing," parent Nicole Tucker said.
But Tucker says the problem starts at home. "There's no way that your kids should be taking drugs to school, let alone having them in their possession," she said.
