Fresno and Clovis movie theaters apply to sell beer and wine

FRESNO, California -- You may soon be able to enjoy beer or wine while watching a movie at the Sierra Vista Theatre in Clovis or Regal Manchester Stadium in Fresno. Both theaters have applied for licenses to sell the beverages.

The theaters are following a growing trend across the country that began more than a decade ago. One theater in Tulare already sells beer and wine.

The permit process could take up to six months. The license is the same as the one issued to restaurants.
