FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's not even Halloween yet, but at least one house on Christmas Tree Lane is already prepping for the holiday season.
Dean Alexander has been busy decorating his house for the last few weeks. It takes him about eight weekends to get everything ready in time for the kickoff of Christmas Tree Lane.
But this year, he's starting a little extra early to take part in a national televised competition. This is the first time the show will be in Fresno.
Alexander says while he puts on a huge display every year, this season he's including even more elements.
"This year, a few things we added, we've added some new electronic fireworks, LED fireworks. We want some energy savings," he said. "Actually more soldiers and more lights. I've replaced and refurbished things, and it's going to look better than ever."
Alexander says switching to LED lights has drastically cut down on energy use.
He plans to have his house holiday-ready before the end of the month.
