Family holds toy drive in honor of Jerry Tarkanian

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The family of former Fresno State coach and athlete Jerry Tarkanian is honoring his legacy this weekend.

Loved ones held the Tark Toy Drive before Saturday's home game against UNLV.

The event aimed to raise awareness about how strokes can affect all age groups. The toys will be given to Valley Children's Hospital and the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada because Tarkanian also coached at UNLV before his death last February.

This event fell on Heroes Night at the Save Mart Center.

All fire, police, paramedics, veterans and active military got in free.
