Chef Shayna Recipes: Krostule

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Krostule recipe:



4 eggs


1/2 pint sour cream ( 1 cup)


4-6 Tbsp sugar



2 cups flour or to handle


2 Tbsp rum


4 Tbsp melted butter


Crisco oil for frying.



In a mixing bowl place the eggs and sugar. Beat together well at least 15-20 minutes, add sour cream, melted butter and rum. Continue beating for at least 5 minutes. Add flour gradually until you can handle the dough. Divide into balls and let rest. Roll out the balls one at a time. Roll thin as desired. Cut into strips and form bows or other shapes. Deep fry in moderate oil. Drain, place on platter and cover with powdered sugar.
