FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local park is now a lot cleaner thanks to some Fresno State students. Members of the Delta Zeta sorority partnered with the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity to spruce up Logan Park in Northwest Fresno on Saturday. They wiped graffiti off playground equipment, picked up trash and scooped up piles of pine needles.
Organizers say they enjoy showing the positive side of Greek life, while making a difference in the community. "We've already seen a couple of families out here. We've got some kids playing soccer. It's nice to see who we're helping and see kind of the impact that we're making," said Emily Cortez, president of the Delta Zeta chapter at Fresno State.
The sorority and fraternity members are required to do a certain number of community service hours, but they say most go above and beyond the minimum amount.
