Truckee Police said they arrested 33-year-old McKinley Williams after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Donner Lake.
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- According to Fresno Police, McKinley Williams is wanted for the murder of Johnnie Massey on April 20, 2012. Massey was shot in a hotel parking lot in West Central Fresno and later died at the hospital. Williams is also wanted for a murder in Florida.
Truckee Police said after they pulled over Williams, an alert from a police dog prompted officers to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle they found a small amount of marijuana as well as more than 100 various credit cards in an unidentified female's name, pre-paid gift cards, altered debit cards, pre-paid cash cars and numerous receipts of for high-end apparel from different states across the country.
Police said Williams and 23-year-old Karion Bickham identified themselves with Florida driver licenses. But during the search of the vehicle, officers found a second Florida driver license with Bickham's picture and a fictitious name that matched the name on the credit cards.
Both Williams and Bickham were booked into the Truckee Jail on several fraud related charges. Police said during the booking process, they found Williams had two outstanding warrants for murders in Fresno and Florida. The bail for the Fresno warrant was $1-million.
Truckee Police said neither Williams nor Bickham has any known ties to the Truckee area -- and authorities believe they were just traveling through the area.
