A Pennsylvania man was arrested after police said they were searching for the gunman who shot and killed a mother and daughter during a home invasion in New Jersey.

Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54, were found dead in an upstairs bedroom of their home in Willingboro early Wednesday, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said.

Junior Edwards, 37, of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, along with additional charges related to the alleged home invasion and possession of a weapon, prosecutors said in a statement released on Saturday.

Authorities said prior to the arrest that they believed the crime wasn't random and didn't think other residents in the neighborhood are at risk.

It appeared the intruder broke a first-floor window to enter the home, prosecutors said.

"The investigation revealed that entry was made through a first-floor window that had been smashed open by Edwards," prosecutors said as they announced Edwards' arrest. "A handgun believed to be used in the homicides was discovered outside of the residence."

Edwards and Catherine Nunez shared an 8-year-old son, proscecutors said, adding, "The child was in the home during the shootings but was not injured."

Edwards was arrested Friday in Philadelphia, prosecutors said.
