Former pediatric nurse found guilty of poisoning her own daughter

HOUSTON -- A former pediatric nurse has been found guilty of poisoning her own daughter with salt.

Jurors went home after finding Kelly Ripstra guilty. They'll start deliberating punishment tomorrow. She faces up to live in prison.

According to court documents, one time the child's sodium level was so high, she arrived at Texas Children's Hospital unconscious.

The girl, who is now 4 years old, ended up suffering brain damage.
