PARLIER, Calif. (KFSN) -- Parlier City Councilmember, Noe Rodriguez, is facing a variety of charges including domestic violence and assault. They stem from an incident early Sunday morning at a home in Reedley.
Officials said Rodriguez lived with the victim and had been in a relationship with this person for about two years.
After being arrested for the abuse and bailing out of jail Rodriguez was then rearrested during a traffic stop for violating a protective order and being in a car with the victim.
Rodriguez' office released the following statement regarding the incident.
"Councilman Rodriguez disputes the unfounded allegations that have been made against him in the last week. These charges are completely without merit. He is eagerly looking forward to clearing his name in a court of law. As Parlier City Manager, Ron Manfredi, mentioned on Monday, Councilman Rodriguez is a thoughtful and respectful person- these charges do not fit within his character. Councilman Rodriguez, has the utmost confidence that these accusations will be disposed of in an expeditious manner and he will be able to resume his work serving the community."
