
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A stabbing in southwest Fresno at the end of April has turned into a homicide investigation.
Police were called out to Discount General Merchandise Store on B and San Benito streets on April 28.
When they arrived, they found 58-year-old Leonardo Alejo suffering from an apparent stab wound.
Alejo was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and died from his injuries on Tuesday, May 5.
Police already had 32-year-old Jose Moreno in custody accused of the stabbing, and the district attorney's office is now working to change his charges.
This is the 10th homicide in the city of Fresno this year.
