One man hospitalized following shooting in Central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno Police Department is investigating a shooting in Central Fresno that sent one to the hospital on Friday night.

Police responded to a shooting near Harvey Avenue and Bond Street shortly before 11:00 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 44-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is now recovering after undergoing surgery.

Detectives were seen talking to neighbors and witnesses on the scene who say the victim was involved in a verbal disturbance with other people when someone approached him and shot him.

No suspects have been taken into custody.

This is an ongoing investigation.
