
HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is in the hospital after an apartment fire in Hanford early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 4:45 am at a unit at the Edgewater Isle Apartments on W. Pepper Drive.
Officials say heavy fire activity was coming from the living room and porch area.
Both a mother and son suffered smoke inhalation. Officials say the mother went back inside the apartment to grab items.
She was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The apartment is considered a total loss.
Crews were able to contain the flames in under 45 minutes. Nearby units also suffered some damage.
Officials say eight people total were displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
