CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Rev's specializes in California cuisine based on fresh local ingredients. The upscale but casual eatery is located on Clovis Avenue at Fourth Street.
Owner and chef Brian Velasquez is a Gulf War veteran who has worked in the restaurant industry for years. For his menu, he pulled inspiration from his favorite places in Manhattan, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
One of the most popular dishes so far: the lobster mac and cheese. While the restaurant is weeks away from its official grand opening, the buzz has been building. Velasquez and his wife Renee, whom the restaurant is named after, told Action News, "The welcoming we've received so far has been overwhelming. People you know wishing us the best, be successful. Old Town Clovis has been really looking forward to this."
The Velasquezes hired about a dozen students and graduates from the Institute of Technology Culinary School. On Saturday, the restaurant will be holding an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- offering free appetizers.
