FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The holidays are quickly approaching and one local organization wants to make sure our troops are remembered during the holiday season.
Central Valley Blue Star Moms are collecting care package items to send to loved ones serving around the country and overseas. The goal of the drive is to create at least 400 care packages for local members of the U.S. military who will be on overseas deployments during the holiday season.
Some of the items needed include non-perishable snack foods, toiletries, small recreational items, and cash to help with the mailing cost. The Blue Star Moms also need the names and addresses of deployed service members.
The collection drive runs through November 18th. You can donate non-perishable food items, toiletries or games at various locations including Batter Up Pancakes, Holy Spirit Church, and Ethan Allen in Northeast Fresno. You can also contact them at helpwoundedwarriors@yahoo.com.
The items will be boxed and shipped out in time to make it to troops for the holidays.
