The third annual Symposium of Chicano History Revisited was hosted by El Concilio de Fresno at the Mosqueda Center on Saturday. This year's theme, "Voces de la Raza," which translates to "Voices of the Chicano Community," focused on Chicano media and the Chicano arts.

Speakers offered a unique snapshot of the Chicano experience during the early struggles of the Chicano movement in Fresno County. The group wants to document local history and eventually make it accessible to the public at the Fresno County Library.

"In our history, we didn't have a history of what we've done and accomplished throughout the years here in the Valley. This gives us an opportunity to document that information and put it in a location where it's available to the community," said Jose Luis Barraza with El Concilio de Fresno.

One of the panels addressed the role of print, television and radio. One of the speakers was Al Reyes -- the first Hispanic journalist at ABC30 in Fresno.
