FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A valley runner is recovering after running more than 24 hours in a grueling race.
Oswaldo Lopez finished the 135-mile Badwater Ultra Marathon at 2:59 a.m. Wednesday morning.
He finished in eighth place for his seventh time competing in the race.
Lopez spent months training for the run which is considered to be one of the toughest competitions in the world.
Temperatures reached as high as 120 degrees and Lopez says he got through the race by thinking about the support of all of his family and friends.
He says he is excited to accomplish this feat but isn't resting anytime soon. Lopez says he's considering accepting an invitation for a 100-mile race in October.
