The Generals Highway is closed due to rock slides in Sequoia National Park

The main road through Sequoia National Park is closed from Highway 180 at the northern entrance, to the Foothills Visitor Center along Highway 198 at the southern entrance.

Park officials say several rock slides and downed trees forced the closure of the Generals Highway.

Crews are working to open the road, but there is no estimated time yet.
