Scammers pretending to be Tulare County Sheriff's deputies

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Tulare County Sheriff's Office and county courthouse say someone is calling county residents and demanding money for outstanding warrants.
The caller tells you to get a pre-paid debit card and call them with the information. The sheriff's office says this is not how they handle warrants.
Teresa Douglass with the Tulare County Sheriff's Office said, "If you have a warrant for your arrest the sheriff's department will not call you on the telephone they will come knocking on your door."
The caller is also telling people to show up at the courthouse on September 30th or October 2nd to prove that you've paid. Authorities recommend people to ignore these calls. You can also contact the Tulare County Sheriff's Office if you have any questions.
