TULARE COUNTY (KFSN) -- In the South Valley families spent the day out on the water at the Tule River. This weekend the U.S. Forest Service reopened public access.
The river had been closed to recreational activities due to this years above average snow melt that created dangerous conditions.
Now that it is open the Tulare County Sheriff's Department wants to remind people to be safe when entering the water-- especially those who have been drinking alcohol and those who can't swim.
