FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Verizon and Sprint may owe customers a late Christmas present in the form of a cash refund but if you want to get that present you have to move fast.
In May, the two cell phone companies agreed to a $158-million settlement with the Federal Trade Commission. They agreed to refund customers who were charged for premium texts without their knowledge. It is a practice known as "cramming" and it is illegal.
If you think you've been a victim of inflated cell phone bills you have until this Thursday to file a claim online.
To submit a claim, visit Sprint'sor Verizon's settlement websites.
