VIDEO: Storm surge and high tide floods road and cars in Washington

WASHINGTON (KFSN) -- Dramatic drone footage captures people racing towards their cars to outrun an oncoming storm surge in Washington.

With a storm approaching Thursday.

Waves reached as high as 50 feet during high tide causing the abnormal storm surge that washed out this road.

At least one car was caught in the drift as others put their vehicles in reverse and got away safely.

No one was hurt in the storm surge.
