On Wednesday, the county asked to leave the case since the family has been involved, and a judge granted the request.
Rivera is in a vegetative state and being housed in a Fresno specialized health care facility. At one time the guardian removed life support believing Rivera would never recover.
With the county out of the case, Rivera's family can make her medical decisions.
