Firm: Calif. median home price down slightly

LOS ANGELES (AP) MDA DataQuick says in a report released Thursday the statewide median price sank just 0.9 percent to $221,000 in April, from $223,000 in March.

The figures marked a third consecutive month when the median price declined by less than 1 percent. Last year's average month-to-month decline was more than 4 percent.

Last month's median home price reflected a 38 percent plunge from the year-ago period, when the figure stood at $354,000.

More than 55 percent of all home sales in March involved foreclosed properties.
