Wildfire Burning in Hills East of Livermore

Firefighters are battling a grass fire that has burned about 2,000 acres in unincorporated Alameda County east of Livermore this afternoon, according to an Alameda County fire dispatcherThe fire was reported at about 4 p.m. above Corral Hollow Road near Site 300, an experimental test site of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the dispatcher said.

The blaze had burned about 2,000 acres as of 6 p.m., according to the dispatcher, who said no structures have been damaged and no structures are threatened.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the fire, the dispatcher said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, she said.
