FRESNO, Calif.

A tiny bug that causes a disease known as Citrus Greening has been discovered in the Southern California City of Redlands. The Asian Citrus Psyllid spread the disease between trees.

So far Citrus Greening hasn't been found in Southern California, but because the bug has been seen, the City of Redlands has approved funding for insecticides that will kill the bug.

Because there is no cure for Citrus Greening, it is especially dangerous for citrus growers. Once a tree is infected, the only way to get rid of the disease is to destroy the tree.

An already shrinking supply of cattle around the world is getting even smaller.

Ranchers in China have lost more than 3,500 cattle in the past month because of blizzard conditions. The storms brought freezing temperatures that many cattle have not been able to survive.

Local government officials are now declaring at least one area of the Tibetan mountains a disaster zone.

There is a bit of relief, sun and warmer temperatures are expected through the weekend which could help melt snow.
