Fresno State holds women's lacrosse clinic

FRESNO, Calif.

Girls from 7th to 12th grade were invited to sharpen their skills with a variety of drills and small scrimmages.

The head coach says her team is hoping to increase interest in lacrosse here in the valley and across the state.

Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Jessica Pausewang said, "Even since the year I've been here it's the fastest growing sport in the country. They added 41 lacrosse teams this last year alone at collegiate level, so it's very popular, and it's coming this way on the west coast."

The women's lacrosse team holds two to three clinics each semester and is hoping to have a camp this summer.

Past players took part in an alumni game this afternoon and the 2013 season kicks off on February 17th.
