Elderly Couple Dies in Clovis Crash

KFSN Clovis Police say the car was at a gas station at Shaw and Burl when it took off across the driveway then raced through the near-by DMV parking lot, jumping a total of five curbs before hitting a pole.

One witness said it appeared the man was upset about something.

Tire marks show the car took off straight ahead of where it was parked at the gas station. Sgt. Alex Campos, Clovis Police Department: "We have a witnesses that says it appeared the driver was trying to regain control of the, ah, the vehicle."

The driver, 93-year old Everett Henson and the passenger, 87-year old Pauline Henson were killed.

No one else was hurt.

Shaw Avenue was shut down for several hours while the light pole was fixed.
