House Fire in Fresno County

Fireworks may have sparked a fire that destroyed a home in Fresno County. It happened just before one this Sunday morning at Goodfellow and Rio Vista. That's just north of Reedley. As you can see, hot spots remained even after firefighters got control of the flames. Cal fire officials say the fire started in a detached garage and then spread to the house.

Both structures are a complete loss. Seven adults and 2 kids were living in the home.

Now investigators are trying to figure out if the fireworks the family was using for the fourth of july are to blame. Eric Watkins with Fresno County Cal-Fire said, "They had safe and sane fireworks usage, they had sparklers. And some of the variety packs that are sold out in the stands."

Cal fire says its resources were stretched thin overnight because of another fire in the Del Rey area.
