SoCal firefighters battle three wildfires

FRESNO, Calif.

The fire in Camarillo has burned fifty acres, in a hilly neighborhood north of the 101 Freeway. Right now, its 60-percent contained. The fire burned right up to the backyards of some homes. Voluntary evacuation orders have now been lifted. About one-hundred firefighters will stay overnight for hotspots.

A couple hours later, firefighters responded to a five acre blaze in the city of Walnut, northeast of Los Angeles. 24 homes were evacuated when the fire came within yards of the structures, but crews managed to quickly beat back the flames. This fire is now fully contained.

In San Diego County, a morning training exercise sparked a fire that's now grown to 27-hundred acres. It's burning on the Camp Pendleton Marine base. The fire is burning through brush in undeveloped land. It's now 60-percent contained.
