Amber Alert issued for baby abducted in Fresno Co.

Edgar Ramos, 19, is the infant's father and is believed to be the person responsible for the kidnapping.

Investigators are looking for Edgar Ramos who they say could be somewhere in the South Valley or even in the Los Angeles area.

The infant's mother told Action News the two were locked in a legal custody battle and allowed Ramos to visit the baby until their next court case which is scheduled for Wednesday.

Lupe Bueno explains the last time she saw her son Elijah Rivas with her ex-boyfriend when he came to visit her Riverdale home Saturday night.

"He said he was going to come back inside in a few minutes. Three, Five minutes went by and I called him he didn't answer, which was a bit weird because he was just right outside my door. He had no reason not to answer. I came out the car was gone and my son was gone," Bueno said.

Bueno thought she had taken Edgar Ramos' car keys but later found out they were a fake set.

Investigators in Kern County found his car at his parents' house in the town of Wasco that night without father or baby inside.

Now detectives are left to wonder if someone is helping out the 19-year-old with this abduction.

"It makes it more challenging that it's one -- it's that the vehicle that we initially aware that he was in is no longer in and secondly he's actually in other counties. That we're having to rely on allied agencies to help and assist in the investigation," Lt. Robert Salazar said.

Lieutenant Robert Salazar with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office says they are working closely Kern, Kings, and Los Angeles County investigators.

Places Ramos is believed to be hiding.

Meanwhile Beuno is anxious about Elijah's safety because she says Ramos took him even without having a child safety seat installed in his car.

"I try not to but it's hard. It is my son you know. I'm just concerned."

Now because the suspect's car was found in Kern County -- the amber alert won't be visible on highway billboards.

Sheriff's detectives say Ramos' family is cooperating with their investigation up to this point.
