Farmers in the Central Coast are taking drastic measures to protect their crops from the frost.

Ag officials say the Central Coast was hit with earlier-than-usual frost this week causing farmers to take preventative measures.

Growers are using wind machines and adjusting irrigation schedules to keep the cold snap from damaging their crops. The wind machines are able to keep air flowing and hold temperatures up above freezing.
