Beefed-Up Spanish Rice

What You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (see Note)
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain or brown rice
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups salsa

What To Do:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute beef until browned; drain off excess liquid.  

  2. Stir in remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, or until rice is tender. Serve immediately.
