Family members of Branden Cervantez said they are not losing hope. "We're just hoping that they find those guys and put them in prison where they belong, you know, get rid of them," the victim's brother Robert Cervantez said.
Relatives of the 30-year-old father of seven have been holding car wash fundraisers to help with funeral costs. "It's devastating for all of us, his boys, he has from 3-years-old to 13-years-old and two step sons," the victim's sister Denise Valdovinos said.
Cervantez was tragically killed outside Nick's Bar in Central Fresno last week. Investigators say it started as a fight between two women inside the bar and somehow Cervantez got mixed up in the fight.
"It was a real tragic, unfortunate incident. He was killed, he was an innocent person," Victims family member Dan Rodriguez said.
The incident left the family scrambling to raise money to bury Cervantez. The family is even holding yard sales and said the community is stepping up.
"They're not necessarily looking to buy anything, but they're coming up, showing up saying, hey we feel for you, show you some support and giving you a donation here," Rodriguez said.
Fresno police say they are still actively working the case and are still looking for the shooter. Relatives are now pleading for the public's help and asking any witnesses to come forward.
"If anyone has heard anything that they come forward, say something we're just looking for support," Rodriguez said.
