Janinne Alvarado went to B95, a radio station in Fresno, to claim her $1,000 prize for being a finalist in a nation-wide contest. But when she got there she found out, not only was she a finalist, she won the national contest.
First prize was a pair of 2013 Fiats -- each with $5,000 in the glove compartment.
The surprises didn't end there. Janinne was also given an option if she didn't want the two cars. Instead, she could take a $50,000 cash prize.
A Radio station representative said after giving it some thought, Janinne chose the cash over the cars.
