Fire crews responded to a home on Hogans Mountain Road just south of Highway 41 at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities said when they arrived half of the house was up in flames and the fire was spreading to a second home.
One person suffered burns and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. There is no word yet on the extent of his injuries.
The home was destroyed by the fire and the Red Cross assisted the five occupants find a place to spend the night.
