Police say Jesse Aguilar was hiding out at a motel on Blackstone near Sierra. SWAT officers tried to talk Aguilar out of his room. But when he didn't listen, they used a flash-bang to force Aguilar to surrender.
Blackstone Avenue was shut down during the standoff.
Investigators say Aguilar shot and killed Fernando Zapata Senior, 54, on New Year's Day. And that he shot and injured 33-year-old Fernando Zapata Junior.
Detectives say the victims and suspect have gang ties.
