Neel Kashkari spoke to an audience at the Fresno Rescue Mission about high speed rail Wednesday afternoon. He said he is in the race to improve California's economy. Kashkari is opposed to the high speed rail plan, calling it tax dollars that could be better spent.
The visit was Kashkari's second stop in the Valley in less than a month. He made at appearance at the World Ag Expo in February.
Kashkari is a Republican newcomer who faces long odds against Governor Jerry Brown. One other republican candidate has officially entered the race -- State Assemblyman Tim Donnelly of Twin Peaks.
Former Congressman George Radanovich of Mariposa told Action News recently he is still exploring a possible run.
