Bell Helmets awarding $100,000 to fund a trail building project

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A non-profit group in Mariposa County is in the process of creating a mountain bike park. And they hope to receive some major grant money to get their project completed. Bell Helmets is offering $100,000 in funding.

The bike park is located near Lake McClure and managed by the Merced Irrigation District. Some trails are already open, but the ultimate goal is 50 to 60 miles of prime riding space. It's free to the public after paying for parking at the lake. The park has already taken a strong lead since online voting began Monday morning.
