FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Cal Fire is increasing its staff for Memorial Day weekend and is asking people to use extra precaution while celebrating the holiday.
Firefighters say a hot wind weekend will likely raise the fire risk in the Central Valley.
So the department is asking the public to take steps to prevent sparking a new wildfire.
If you're barbecuing or camping this weekend, keep an eye on campfires and grills.
Make sure they're completely extinguished before leaving.
And if you decide to take a dip into some water, make sure everyone is geared with life jackets and adults-beverages are limited.
