FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State said in a statement that the fraternity has been placed on suspension for two years for conduct violations involving hazing activity and serving alcohol to minors during the spring 2015 semester.
The university said a review of the organization was started on March 10th after complaints of noise and property damage with use of firearms. The review was later revised to include an allegation of possible hazing during new member recruitment and initiation during spring 2015.
Fresno State said during the suspension, the chapter will lose all privileges associated with recognition as a student organization at Fresno State. Alpha Gamma Rho will not be allowed to recruit for membership or participate in university events.
While the fraternity was suspended for two years, they may be eligible to have their status restored in the Fall of 2016 if certain requirements are met -- including developing and implementing an approved plan for hazing education.
