State Center Community College District celebrates golden anniversary

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It was a special night for education as the State Center Community College District celebrated 50 years.

Action News anchor Margot Kim sang the national anthem and also served as the emcee at Friday night's event.

The Golden Anniversary Gala celebrated the district's hard work over the years, which has grown to include five different community colleges throughout the Central Valley.

The keynote speaker was award-winning author, poet and Fresno native Gary Soto.
