FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Students flooded onto campus walkways and into classrooms at Fresno State after three weeks off for winter break. Many students spent the day purchasing their books for school and if they're new, finding their way around campus.
2015 will be an exciting year for Fresno State students. The Campus Point development is expected to be built by the end of this year -- complete with a movie theater and new restaurants. President Joseph Castro also promised in his spring address to work on offering more classes for students who are still finding it hard to get off the waiting lists.
Daisey Lee said, "I hope so because my biology classes are always closed and I just need my biology classes. So, I would be done if my biology classes were open."
Khalid Elsak added, "Especially those classes that everyone has to take, biology. These classes they need to add one more, at least."
This semester, students can also reap the benefits of a new program that provides them free food and hygiene products.
Fresno State's Student Cupboard has only been open for a couple months. Students who might be struggling to pay their bills can get some help with the basics, right on campus.
The Student Cupboard is open most days in the afternoons during the week. All they have to do is show their student ID and take whatever they need, for free.
