Los Banos teacher and his father died in a car crash along with another driver
A Los Banos High School math teacher and his father, a Los Banos substitute teacher were killed in a car crash on Tuesday night.

LOS BANOS, Calif. (KFSN) -- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said a VW Passat was driving too fast around a corner and crashed into a Saturn ION, killing himself and two others.

CHP investigators say 30-year-old George Andrade was driving the Passat on Ingomar Grade, west of Sylvester Road at a high rate of speed just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday. He was unable to negotiate a curve and crossed over into oncoming traffic, directly into the path of the Saturn. The Saturn then broadsided the driver's side door of the Passat.

Both the driver and the passenger of the Saturn, 58-year-old Brett Bartlett and 33-year-old Michael Bartlett, were killed in the crash. The driver of the Passat, 30-year-old George Andrade, was also killed.

Michael Bartlett has been a math teacher at Los Banos High School for the past 12 years. His father, Brett Bartlett was a substitute teacher for the district. Michael's mother is also a counselor at Los Banos Junior High School. The school district will have grief counselors available on both school campuses on Wednesday.

The CHP said all the victims were residents of Los Banos. They said drug or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor. However, the crash remains under investigation.
